RF microneedling combines the individual effects of microneedling and radiofrequency. The microneedles create small channels in the uppermost layer of your skin, also known as the epidermis. These micro-punctures allow the RF energy to penetrate deeper into the skin.
The heat from the RF energy enters the skin, reaching past the epidermis to the dermis where collagen and elastin are made. Collagen and elastin are natural proteins your body makes to keep your skin, muscles, and other tissue flexible. You produce the highest amount of collagen and elastin during your childhood.
