How to get the best EZGel PRP/PRF Results
What to do Before + After Your EZGel Treatment
- ONE MONTH BEFORE: Avoid dental work, oral surgery, and immunizations. (Please wait at least 2–weeks after your EZGel treatment before scheduling these procedures.)
- 7–DAYS BEFORE: Avoid common blood-thinning substances such as NSAIDS; Motrin, Ibuprofen, and Aleve and herbal supplements, such as Garlic, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, and Omega-3 capsules. (This will help minimize your risk of bruising.) Please note: If you have a cardiovascular history, please check with your doctor before stopping blood thinners.
- 48–HOURS BEFORE: No alcoholic beverages.
- 24–HOURS BEFORE: Please make sure you are well-hydrated in preparation for your treatment. (The more hydrated you are, the easier the process will be!)
What Happens the Day of Treatment
- Please try to arrive with clean skin, free of makeup, creams, gels, or lotions on the treatment areas. (But if this is not possible, don’t worry, we’ll make sure everything is clean and sterile before treatment!)
- To maximize your comfort during the procedure, a topical anesthetic or numbing cream may be applied.
- A small amount of your blood will be drawn and centrifuged to separate the platelet-rich plasma from other blood components. After a heating and cooling process, the growth factors form a rejuvenating substance which is then ready to be injected
- The PRF Gel is injected into the targeted treatment areas.
What to Expect
- You may experience redness and tenderness at the treatment site(s) that can last a few hours to a few days.
- Bruising may occur in the treated areas.
- Depending on the area(s) treated, you may feel “firmness” for 1 to 2 weeks after treatment, which will soften and settle over time.
After Your Treatment
- Try to sleep on your back, with a clean pillowcase, for the first few nights post-treatment.
- AVOID applying makeup for the first 24–hours after treatment.
- You may take Acetaminophen/Tylenol if you experience mild tenderness or discomfort.
- Gently apply an ice or cold gel pack (or even a bag of frozen veggies) to the treatment area(s) to help reduce swelling and bruising. (Please try to be as gentle as possible with this, and not exert any pressure on the skin with frozen-item.)
- AVOID placing excessive pressure on the treated area(s) for the first few days; when cleansing your face or applying makeup, be very gentle.
- AVOID exercise or strenuous activities for the remainder of the treatment day; you may resume other normal activities/routines immediately.
- AVOID extended UV exposure until any redness/swelling has subsided. Be sure to apply an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen.
- For 2–WEEKS AFTER TREATMENT; avoid laser treatments.
