How to best prepare for AviClear Treatments

What to Know Before AviClear Acne Treatments

This is a quick check-list to help make sure your AviClear acne treatment is as safe, easy and effective as possible:

  1. Please let us know if you have used Isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last 6-months.
  2. Avoid skin irritants (examples below) for a 3-5 days before treatment. The most common culprits are products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, vitamin C/ ascorbic acid, astringents, etc.
  3. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, suntanning or self-tanners prior to and during the treatment regimen. (This includes spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds, sun exposure, etc.)
  4. Please notify us with any changes to your health history or medications since your last appointment.
  5. Please let us know if you have a history of cold sores so that we can prescribe an antiviral prescription prior to treatment.
  6. Excess hair may need to be shaved. (Men should arrive cleanly shaved.)
  7. Timing: You’ll be in our office for approximately 90+ minutes per AviClear treatment (this time includes pre-treatment numbing), once a month, for 3-months. For our Acne Apocalypse program, 2-weeks after each AviClear treatment you’ll come in for a 30-minute Refinement Session.
  8. Please make sure to wear comfortable clothing to your appointments!

As always, please contact us with any questions or concerns — we’re here for you!
