What to Know Before Your Botox Treatment

In order to make sure your treatment is as safe and easy for you as possible, here is a quick cheat-sheet to maximize your neurotoxin treatment at your favorite Philadelphia practice:
HOW TO REDUCE BRUISING RISK: Starting 2-3 Days Before Treatment
 
1. Please avoid any medication and/or supplements (doctor permitting) that have blood-thinning side-effects, such as:
  • Aspirin, Ibuprofen, NSAIDs
  • Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Ginkgo Biloba, Garlic Supplements
  • Herbal supplements with anticoagulant effects such as Ginger, Ginseng, or Turmeric
2. Lifestyle Modifications
  • Please avoid alcohol for 48-hours pre-treatment to reduce bruising risk
  • Stay hydrated and make sure to eat something before your appointment!
 
ABSOLUTE TREATMENT DEALBREAKERS: Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
 
If you are currently pregnant or breast-feeding, CONGRATS!!! 
But, please let us know before your appointment because it is not safe for you to receive a neurotoxin treatment at this time. (There is no safety data for neurotoxins effect during pregnancy/lactation, and we would never want to risk any harm to Baby.)
